Of course, women are not the only ones who dream about smooth and soft skin. It is also very important for men to look nice and well-groomed, so that they don’t have to think about the hairs that need to be removed every day. Especially if the nature of the work they do is such that it requires their body to always be hair-free. These are usually models, swimmers, dancers, cyclists.
Laser epilation is a treatment that is intended for both women and men, and the efficiency of this procedure is up to 99 percent. Maybe you didn’t know, but when it comes to permanently removing unwanted hair, as many as 85 percent of women and 70 percent of men choose laser hair removal!
Besides wanting to look nice and well-groomed, there are several practical reasons why men opt for laser hair removal:

  • excessive flabbiness of certain parts of the body;
  • excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis is common in many men, especially in the underarm area;
  • in case of problems with ingrown hairs;
  • allergies, rashes and irritations after shaving or depilation.

Is laser hair removal for men the same as for women?

If you haven’t heard anything about laser epilation before, let’s first say a few important things about this procedure.
First of all, laser epilation is a medical treatment that destroys hairs at the root. After several treatments, the hairs were removed forever.
The intense heat delivered by the lasers penetrates the skin, all the way to the pigment of the hair follicle. Once the root of the hair is destroyed, along with its DNA record, it will never grow back. All hair removal options, such as shaving, waxing or tweezing, are only temporary solutions.

Laser epilation is the only permanent method of hair removal, completely effective and safe.

Laser hair removal is a treatment that works the same for both women and men. The laser beam penetrates the skin, the skin absorbs it and turns it into heat. That heat destroys the hairs. However, there are several important differences between laser hair removal for women and laser hair removal for men. In men, the hair is stronger at the root, it is thicker, it grows faster and the areas of the body covered with hair are larger than in women.

What are the benefits of laser hair removal for men?

And really, if you’re tired of all the hair removal options and don’t want to think about them ever again, consider scheduling your laser hair removal appointment. These are its biggest advantages:

  • fast, painless and safe permanent hair removal;
  • without irritations, rashes and allergies;

Laser hair removal for men using two of the best lasers

Laser epilation was first performed in America in 1996. years. Since then, great strides have been made in this field. New laser technologies are developed every year to make laser epilation as effective as possible.
Of course, to achieve maximum results in the shortest possible time, we need the best medical lasers. In our office, we perform laser epilation using two of the most efficient lasers on the market. These are Alma Soprano Titanium and Lumenis Lightsheer Desire. If necessary, we combine both so that our patients have the best result in the shortest possible time.
We emphasize that only medical lasers emit the energy needed to permanently remove hair. Be careful when choosing a laser, because unlike medical ones, there are also cosmetic and IPL hair removal systems. They will remove the hair, but after a certain amount of time, the hair will grow back.

Lumenis Lightsheer Desire

The first of our two medical lasers is the Lumenis Lightsheer Desire, which has a wavelength of 805 nm. It penetrates the skin, does not damage it, is completely safe, reliable and secure. Lumenis Lightseer Desire is intended for treating all skin types, even very sensitive ones.
It features two advanced technologies that help it eliminate more hair, resulting in fewer treatments being needed. This laser eliminates up to three times more hair than IPL lasers. It also has a skin cooling mechanism, chillTip technology, which makes the treatments as pleasant as possible.

Alma Soprano Titanium

Another laser we use is the Alma Soprano Titanium. It is known on the market under the slogan ” Stronger, faster, smarter hair removal” and meets all standards of effective and safe epilation.
It is the only laser in the world that has 3D SHR in-motion technology that emits three different wavelengths simultaneously. The 1064nm wavelength beam penetrates the deepest and darkest hairs, and the 810nm wavelength is suitable for removing the most common types of hair. The third wavelength of 755nm is ideal for eliminating lighter and finer hairs. It emits 150 laser beams with these three wavelengths in just one second!
Probe size is a very important part of this laser. The Alma Soprano Titanium laser probe has a surface that is twice as large compared to the older type of this device, the Alma Soprano Ice laser. The probe is adapted to all parts of the skin and all areas of the body, including the most sensitive and inaccessible ones. These are the space between the eyebrows, intimate area, nostrils, lips. This laser has the latest ICE plus technology that pleasantly cools the skin.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Not! The feeling on the skin is pleasant, there is no pain or burning sensation, and the entire treatment takes very little time. Let’s say, with the Soprano Titanium laser, we finish the laser epilation of the armpits in just 1 minute, arms in 2 minutes, one leg in 7 minutes, and both in just 15 minutes!
Both of our lasers have systems that pleasantly cool the skin during the entire epilation.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Numerous scientific studies and research have shown that laser epilation with a medical laser is a completely safe and effective procedure. We emphasize that it is important that epilation is performed by professional and trained personnel.

What does skin product look like for laser epilation?

In order to achieve maximum results, it is important to follow several important steps and to adequately prepare the skin.

  • 4 weeks before the scheduled laser epilation, do not depilate the hairs or pluck them with tweezers. This is important in order to save the root of the hair that the laser will destroy;
  • 2 to 3 days before the treatment, remove the hair with a razor, scissors or depilation cream;
  • On the day of the treatment, do not apply lotions, creams, or deodorant to your body if you plan to have laser epilation of your armpits;
  • All dark spots on the skin, larger and smaller moles, must be covered with a special white pencil;
  • If you use certain medicines, please tell our doctor.

How many treatments do I need?

Regardless of the body area we treat, one laser hair removal treatment will never be enough. It is possible to remove 20 to 30 percent of hairs during the first treatment, and now we will explain that.
Hairs are in different stages of growth and therefore the heat of the laser does not affect all hair follicles equally. Those hairs that are in the active growth phase (anagen phase) during epilation will be removed forever. Hair follicles that are in the resting phase (telogen phase) as well as in the phase of product for resting (catagen phase) will not be eliminated.
Until the next treatment, the hairs that have not been removed will grow and then we remove them. After the first treatment, you will notice that the hairs have thinned out, that there are much fewer of them. The number of necessary treatments depends on the area of the body we are treating, the density and thickness of the hairs, as well as the color of the skin itself. Most often, it is necessary to do six to eight treatments, everything is individual. Epilation treatments for the body are done every 6 to 8 weeks, and on the face every 4 to 6 weeks. It is very important not to skip the appointments!

How should I take care of my skin after laser epilation?

During laser epilation, you will notice a slight redness on the skin, which will disappear after a few hours. The skin then cools slightly and then it is important to apply panthenol or some other soothing cream. After the treatment, do not sunbathe or go to the solarium for two weeks. After that, be sure to apply a cream with a high protection factor. Until the next treatment, do not pull the hairs from the roots, you can depilate or shave them.

Are dark hairs harder to remove?

Not! Medical lasers work effectively on both lighter and darker hair follicles. The pigment of the hair absorbs the light beam of the laser, the light turns into heat and successfully destroys the hair at the root. Only hairs without any pigment cannot be eliminated. Ingrown hairs and laser epilation

Hair growth (folliculitis) is a common problem, and the only way to get rid of it forever is laser epilation. In men, ingrown hairs are even more prevalent than in women, the root of the hair is stronger, the hair is thicker. Also, in men, as a result of shaving, hair grows on the chin, cheeks, and neck, which often leads to infection and the appearance of purulent pimples.
During epilation, the laser solves the problems of hair growth with a therapeutic effect, because it penetrates deep into their roots. The laser removes the hair follicle forever, which is the only way to prevent it from growing back and becoming infected.
In addition, medina lasers can also solve other skin problems such as enlarged veins and capillaries, uneven complexion and hyperpigmentation.

Are there any contraindications for laser epilation?

In men, the most common contraindicated conditions for laser application are chronic diseases such as epilepsy, vitiligo, psoriasis, malignancy. If you use photosensitizing drugs, you have fresh scars, even then you will not be able to undergo this treatment. Laser facial epilation is not performed on the face if you wear a fixed prosthesis.
