Are you 50+ years old? If yes, it is certain that at least once you have found yourself in front of the mirror pulling the skin of your face upwards with your fingers, watching with satisfaction how the cheekbones take on youthful contours, the cheeks lift and the facial skin tightens. Even the folds disappeared on the lower jaw, those annoying “bags” of loose skin, which add a few years to the face. You wished your face could be tightened and lifted again. However, since you are not ready for a surgical facelift and the long recovery after it, you are interested in whether and how it is possible to tighten the skin with non-surgical methods.
With these thoughts and the desire for a younger and refreshed appearance, our patient Aleksandra visited us. She complained of sagging skin, a tired appearance and a change in the shape of her face, which became wider in the lower part. After the consultation and examination, we suggested a non-surgical lifting and tightening of her face with hyaluronic fillers, adapted to the 8-point face lifting method.
Hyaluronic fillers restore lost facial fullness, provide hydration and a healthy skin appearance. Their main characteristic is that the face retains its natural, “unoperated” appearance.
On the face of our patient, we can clearly see the typical signs of aging after 50. years:
- dark circles,
- wrinkles around the lips and eyes,
- nasolabial folds, flat cheekbones and slightly swollen cheeks,
- excess subcutaneous tissue in the form of “bags” on the jawline .
The shape of the face it’s on disappears triangle of youth – prominent cheekbones, raised cheeks and a narrow lower part of the face is characteristic of many women in their late forties, when the face changes from a V shape to a square shape.
Midface tightening
In the central part of the face, thinning and redistribution of the subcutaneous tissue of the cheekbones and cheeks led to a sunken appearance, emphasizing nasolabial folds and dark circles. Alexandra’s first wish was to correct her nasolabial folds. However, treating only these wrinkles would lead to “heaviness” of the area around the nose and lips, resulting in an unnatural appearance. That’s why we first filled the cheekbones and the outer part of the cheeks towards the ear (periauricular area) to tighten the central part of the face. With this, we also softened nasolabial wrinkles.
The aging process of one area inevitably leads to changes in neighboring areas. The most important thing is to find the cause of the symptom and correct it (in this case, the loss of fullness in the cheeks and cheekbones), and not to treat the results of the cause (nasolabial folds). This approach not only preserves the natural appearance of the face, but also reduces the amount of hyaluronan used to fill nasolabial folds and tear troughss under the eyes.
tightening of the lower part of the face
In the lower part of the face, folds of fat pads on the jawline and the lack of a clear contour of the lower jaw stand out. Also, we can notice marionette wrinkles and lack of chin volume. The shape, projection and fullness of the chin are very important elements for a harmonious and youthful facial appearance. By correcting the chin with hyaluronan, we provided support to the areas of the face around the nose, the jaw, and the lower part of the cheeks, and shallow wrinkles and marionette wrinkles were visibly softened.
Before and after – treatment results!
The overall effect of correcting the central and lower part of the face did not drastically change Alexandra’s appearance. But using hyaluronic fillers in key areas helped her face achieve a softer, more feminine and younger appearance.
