Hand rejuvenation includes various aesthetic procedures that help the skin on the hands to be tight and blemish-free again. Depending on the condition of the skin, we choose laser methods, chemical peeling, hyaluronic fillers etc. The results are visible even after the first treatment.
How does the skin on the hands age?
The skin on the hands is very thin and sensitive. Apart from the face, this part of our body is constantly exposed to all external influences: solar radiation, wind, cold… How many times during the winter have we had dry hands, and the skin on our hands is rough. And in the summer, hands are constantly under the influence of harmful UV radiation. All that, over the years, leaves significant marks on our hands. Take a closer look at them. Do you notice small spots, freckles, spots, visible veins? These are all clear indicators that the skin in this area is slowly aging.
We know countless examples of famous Hollywood stars who rejuvenated and tightened the skin of the face, neck, and décolletage with various aesthetic procedures. However, when the camera captures the hands, the years are undoubtedly marked on them. And that’s all right, aging is an inevitable natural process and we don’t run away from it. However, it is very important to properly care for the skin on the hands so that they remain beautiful and youthful for as long as possible.
Hand rejuvenation has long been a major challenge for experts in the field of antiaging medicine. However, the latest advances in aesthetic medicine allow us to make hand rejuvenation effective, fast and painless.
Hand rejuvenation: when do we need it?
If you are now looking at your hands and wondering if maybe you are a candidate for hand rejuvenation, now you will find out when it is the right time for it. The following symptoms clearly indicate that we also need hand rejuvenation:
- dry, dehydrated and rough skin;
- loose skin on the hands, reduced elasticity;
- dark spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation;
- visible veins and wrinkles;
- lack of subcutaneous tissue.
the most effective procedures
Depending on the condition of the skin on the hands, the age of the patient and other factors, we opt for the procedure that will give the best results in the individual case. Sometimes it is necessary to hydrate the skin additionally, in other cases it is necessary to improve the volume of the skin or to tighten the sagging skin of the hands. During the consultation, we determine which symptoms are present on the hands, what condition the skin is in, and then choose the appropriate treatment.
According to the indications, we can do individual treatments or a combination of several treatments in order to achieve maximum effects in rejuvenating the hands. Now we will say something more about each of the hand rejuvenation methods that are available to you in our practice.
Skinbooster and mesococktails for hand rejuvenation
If the skin on the hands is extremely dry and rough, it is a clear sign that it needs additional care, primarily deep hydration. The best ways to achieve this are with skinbuster and mesotherapy.
Skinboosters
Skinboosters are products by which we quickly and effectively hydrate skin and improve its quality. In addition to the hands, skin boosters are performed on the face, neck, and décolletage. Depending on the condition and needs of the skin, we use products that deeply hydrate the skin, make it more elastic and slow down aging.
Skinboosters contain different concentrations of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants. These active ingredients stimulate the development of fibroblasts, cells that build connective tissue. Collagen synthesis is accelerated and skin regeneration is encouraged. So, everything the skin needs to be healthy and cared for. After cleaning the skin, we apply an anesthetic cream to make the treatment as painless as possible. Then, with very thin needles, we introduce skinbusters into the middle layer of the skin, the dermis. The procedure itself takes about 30 minutes and there is no recovery period.
The results we achieve are improved hydration of the skin on the hands, better elasticity as well as a slowed down skin aging process. Thanks to the hyaluronic acid that penetrates deep into the skin, the improvement is already visible after the first treatment. We use different products that contain cross-linked or non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Among them are Jalupro, Volite, Profhilo, Restylane Vital. Two treatments per year are optimal, in order to maintain the achieved results. Learn more about skinbusters here.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a modern method by which we inject vitamin cocktails into the skin, thus hydrating and rejuvenating it. The cocktails contain a combination of hyaluronic acid, minerals, and amino acids, which we inject with thin needles into the middle layer of the skin on the hands. The skin becomes hydrated, the production of collagen is stimulated, the subcutaneous tissue is strengthened and circulation is accelerated. The result is well-nourished and more elastic skin, with a healthy and beautiful appearance. The number of treatments will depend on the indications we are treating. Lasers for hand rejuvenation
One of the most effective methods for renewing the skin and slowing down its aging is certainly laser rejuvenation. Whether it is the skin of the face, neck, décolletage or hands, modern lasers achieve extraordinary results. Hand rejuvenation with lasers is a completely natural and minimally invasive method. The skin is tightened and blemishes are removed. We opt for two lasers: CO2 and Harmony Clearlift.
CO2 laser for hand rejuvenation
The Candela CO2 laser is the gold standard when it comes to skin tightening and rejuvenation. It is important to emphasize that it is a fractional ablative laser that removes the surface layer of the skin, and therefore we perform the procedures exclusively from October to March. Then there is the least UV radiation and the possibility of hyperpigmentation on the skin after the laser procedure is reduced. The CO2 laser rejuvenates the skin of the hands, softens visible lines on the skin, tightens sagging skin, eliminates hyperpigmentation and so-called “age spots”.
The treatment looks like we first remove the surface layer of the skin, and then the laser forms microchannels in the deeper layers. The tissue is heated, the production of collagen is stimulated, and the skin becomes more elastic and tight. If you are planning this treatment, it is important to know that recovery lasts from 7 to 10 days. The number of treatments depends on the indication we are treating.
ClearLift laser for hand rejuvenation
We perform treatments with this laser throughout the year. It is a non-ablative laser, one of the most popular in the world when it comes to rejuvenation. Laser ClearLift is part of the Harmony XL PRO platform. It’s known as the Hollywood Lunchtime Facelift – a Hollywood facelift during your lunch break.
During the procedure, we precisely control the penetration depth of the laser beam, and the surface of the skin remains intact. The results are visible immediately and there is no recovery period and it is suitable for all skin types. The skin on the hands is significantly renewed and rejuvenated, hyperpigmentation and spots are removed and the complexion is even. The treatment lasts about 30 minutes, and the optimal number of treatments is between 3 and 4. Find out everything about the ClearLift laser at this link.
TCA Hand Rejuvenation Peel
Chemical peels are another way we can successfully rejuvenate the hands. Their effectiveness lies in the fact that they remove hyperpigmentation, even out skin tone, remove fine lines and make the skin on the hands nourished and smooth. One of the most effective is TCA peeling – peeling with trichloroacetic acid.
TCA peeling deeply regenerates the skin of the hands, rejuvenates it and prevents premature aging. In addition to the hands, we use it for treatments on the face, neck, and décolletage. A TCA peel is a medical procedure that can only be performed by trained professionals. We perform it from autumn to early spring. It is a peeling that penetrates deeper layers and repairs deeper damage. Depending on the indications, we choose the concentration of trichloroacetic acid, and the procedure lasts ten minutes. Recovery takes about 6 to 7 days and involves peeling of the skin as well as mild, transient redness.
Trichloroacetic acid solution stimulates the growth of fibroblasts, the skin regenerates faster and is rejuvenated. Hyperpigmentation and spots are significantly reduced or completely disappear, and the skin on the hands is more elastic, gentler and more beautiful. After a TCA peel, it is crucial that you take proper care of your skin and apply a cream with a high SPF daily and avoid direct sun exposure. To achieve maximum results, the optimal number of treatments is 3 or 4, with an interval of one month.
Hyaluronic fillers for hand rejuvenation
In the case when there is a noticeable lack of subcutaneous tissue on the hands, the skin is loose and without elasticity, we solve the problem with hyaluronic fillers. By injecting hyaluronic fillers into the skin on the hands, we restore volume, elasticity and firmness. The skin is deeply hydrated, the color of the texture, tone, and fine wrinkles have been removed. Also, hyaluronic fillers have less influence on collagen synthesis.
Hyaluronic fillers are a type of dermal fillers, they are in the form of a gel and are injected with thin needles into the desired part of the skin. The results are immediately visible, and the procedure is completely safe and painless. We use the best quality fillers: JUVÉDERM, Restylane and Teosyal. We apply an anesthetic cream to the cleansed skin, and then bite the hyaluronic fillers into the deeper layers of the skin or above the bone. The treatment lasts from 15 to 30 minutes, and the appearance of small bruises and swelling is possible, which will pass in 24 hours. And find out everything you are interested in about hyaluronic fillers here.
Collagen stimulators for hand rejuvenation
Collagen stimulators are dermal fillers that stimulate the production of collagen in the skin and thus improve its elasticity and at the same time give the skin volume. Collagen is one of the most important proteins in our body and the basic building block of connective tissue. A lack of collagen will result in sagging skin, reduced elasticity, loss of connective tissue and a decrease in skin volume. We can compensate for it with various supplements and foods that contain collagen, as well as certain treatments that stimulate collagen synthesis. Among them, the CO2 laser and Morpheus 8 are the most effective.
Another effective way to improve collagen production is to inject a collagen stimulator that will work faster and rejuvenate the hands. The most effective is the collagen stimulator Radiesse – a dermal filler that tightens and rejuvenates the skin. It is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite, which is naturally found in our body, and does not cause allergic reactions. Instantly replenishes volume and stimulates the gradual production of collagen. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and there is no recovery period. The effects can last up to four years. Another collagen stimulator that we use to improve the quality of the skin on the face, neck, décolletage and hands is the HarmonyCa hybrid filler, which contains 70% hyaluronic acid and 30% calcium hydroxyapatite.
Hyaluronic fillers or collagen stimulators?
When we have to choose between hyaluronic fillers and collagen stimulators, it should be emphasized that the use of hyaluronic is much more widespread. For now, there is no product that would completely break down calcium hydroxyapatite in case of complications, while hyaluronic fillers can be completely broken down. Although complications after the use of collagen stimulators are very rare, it is important to note that they can occur. That’s why hyaluronic fillers are a safer option.
