Pimples are caused by excessive thickening of the skin (hyperkeratinization)<\/i> and increased secretion of sebum under the influence of hormones. There is a “blocking” of the pores, in which Propionibacterium acne,<\/i> a normal inhabitant of the skin, reproduces. However, in a situation where the pores are blocked, the number of these bacteria increases significantly, which causes acne.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Do Certain Foods Cause Acne?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

Foods rich in saturated fats, additives and simple sugars can make acne worse to some extent, but they are by no means the cause. However, since that way of eating is not good for our body, a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fish, whole grains and fruits is definitely recommended.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Can acne be spread by touch?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

It is a misconception, Propionibacterium acne<\/i> is a normal inhabitant of our skin. The problem arises when there is a disturbance in keratinization and secretion of sebum, and an increase in the number of this bacteria.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Cosmetics intended for problem skin can only be additional help, but not the main therapy. Often, patients buy various creams, which promise to remove pimples, then try different treatments at beauticians and only finally turn to a doctor.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, such an approach often leads to the formation of scars, which represent a major therapeutic problem.<\/p>\n<\/div>

How should acne and pimples be treated?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

An examination is always necessary to determine what form of acne it is, after which we decide on adequate local therapy. The most commonly used agents are clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin, azelaic acid, salicylic acid and others. These are very effective preparations, however, cooperation with the doctor is necessary in order to achieve the optimal effect, without side effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Are drugs used in therapy?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

Antibiotics from the tetracycline group, most often doxycycline, are used in the treatment of oral acne. Antibiotics are used in case of worseninga, when it is necessary to calm down the situation quickly. Isotretinoin is prescribed for severe acne forms. It is an excellent drug that in most cases permanently solves the\u00a0 problem.<\/p>\n<\/div>

How long does it take to get rid of acne?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

It is necessary to explain to patients that they must be patient. Improvement is expected after the first month of therapy, but for a moderate form of acne, it takes at least 3 months to heal, and when it comes to severe forms, the therapy lasts up to 6 months. It is important to explain to the patient, to be patient, because modern medicine really has an answer to the problem of acne.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Are there treatments that speed up the acne healing process?<\/h2><\/h2><\/div>

The use of chemical peels<\/b><\/a> can significantly speed up the acne treatment process. For example, pyruvic peeling<\/strong> not only speeds up the healing process, but also reduces the possibility of scarring and removes blemishes. When blackheads dominate, we quickly solve this problem with salicylic peeling<\/b>. By applying special peelings, dead skin is removed, the population of bacteria is reduced and the treatment of acne is significantly
